The CM3 measures ultra-low pressures and is used to ensure safe working when handling toxic materials. It is primarily used in asbestos removal but has found applications in clean rooms and paint spraying. The CM3 is the latest generation of a family of products that dates back to 1985. The latest version launched in 2001 has been given many new innovative features to keep it as the front runner in what is now a competitive market. The unit is back compatible with the full range of accessories supplied for use with the previous versions.
The CM3 is now programmable with an automatic date and time function. It is designed and built to withstand harsh treatment and site conditions. It has a universal voltage supply capability allowing operation throughout the world. The CM3 has internal cable and 6mm pipe storage so it can be ready to use quickly.
A solid state transducer senses the pressure and the output from the transducer is converted to a digital word which is passed to the microprocessor. A low or a high pressure triggers an alarm. The high and the low pressure levels can be programmed to suit local regulations and are stored in four memory locations A, B, C and D. These levels can then be selected by a four-position switch. Standard alarm levels are already programmed in when the unit is supplied. The CM3 has the familiar graph style printout but now has automatic date and time logging.
The CM3 is available as 110 or 230 volt.
CALIBRATION
For calibration of your CM3 and CM2 Monitors contact Beacon Internationals service department.
The CM3 unit can be fitted with an internal battery pack to provide battery backup on mains failure or to allow remote operation. The reference for the unit with the battery fitted is CM3-50B. The battery is a 7.2V 1500mAh Nickel metal hydride rechargeable unit. As well as the battery the CM3-50B is fitted with a charging circuit and a control switch
The CM3 unit is compatible with the CM2 accessories. The range of accessories includes:
Remote Klaxon reference KLAX-M.
This device can be silenced by pressing the silence pushbutton on the CM3. It connects to the speaker connector socket on the CM3 display panel and provides an extra loud audible indication in noisy environments.
Remote Klaxon reference KLAX-NM.
This device cannot be silenced by pressing the silence pushbutton on the CM3. It connects to the speaker connector socket on the CM3 display panel and provides an extra loud audible indication in noisy environments.
Power Switching Unit reference PSU-110V.
The power switching unit is controlled from the pressure monitor and can be used to energise air movers or other items of plant on a low or high pressure alarm. The PSU-110V unit has a 110V single phase inlet and outlet connector. The unit is supplied complete with a 110V plug and socket and the interface cable to connect the unit to the relay connector on the CM3.
Power Switching Unit reference PSU-240V.
The unit is as the PSU-110V but is supplied with 240V connectors.
Power Switching Unit reference PSU-415V.
The unit is as the PSU-110V but is supplied with 415V connectors.
Output module reference OP420.
This unit plugs into the auxiliary socket on the CM3 and provides a 4-20mA output that is proportional to the measured pressure. This allows the CM to interface with other systems and plant.
Calibration cable reference CAL.
This cable plugs into the auxiliary socket on the CM3 and provides a 100mV/Pascal output to interface to pressure calibration instruments.
